The Industrial Engineer (Logistics Engineer) is responsible for providing industrial and logistics engineering support to the start-up and/or on-going management of one or more customer accounts, including the design and engineering of operational solutions in the areas of distribution, network analysis, supply chain management, and transportation. This could include projects such as network modeling and optimization, process and methods analysis, facilities design and layout, cost containment, capacity enhancement, routing and shipment optimization, and information management. The position has a high level of customer contact.
To be successful in this position, you need the following background and skills.
? A Bachelors degree in industrial engineering, operations research, or similar discipline. Masters degree is preferred.
? Four or more years of related industrial engineering experience, including conducting detailed engineering and operational studies and managing cost containment, process improvement, and network optimization projects from design to implementation.
? Experience conducting time studies, establishing labor standards and methods, creating facility layouts using AutoCAD, determining equipment and material handling requirements, using material flow modeling, and creating slotting and racking methods.
? Knowledge of transportation management systems and processes, and a demonstrated record of improving transportation networks.
? Knowledge of and experience with Lean Sigma is a benefit. A Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus, but not required.
? Strong skills with MS Office are required. Experience with a top-tier warehouse management system (e.g., PKMS, Catalyst, EXE, etc.), network optimization tools (e.g., i2, Manugistics, etc.), statistical software (e.g., SAS, Minitab), and transportation management systems (e.g., i2, Manugistics, CAPS, etc.) are a benefit.
