General Dynamics Information Technology has an immediate need for a Supportability Engineer for its Integrated Logistics Support Department. Candidate needs to have a minimum of 8 years experience in the field of logistics. This position will have the responsibility for Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) engineering analysis and supportability planning, and leadership contributing to the successful capture and execution of major ILS programs. Programs addressed will include U.S. Military, International Military, and other Government customers. Technical complexity will include all ten elements of ILS, communication electronics systems, and "systems of systems". Knowledge of the ten ILS elements (Maintenance Planning; Manpower and Personnel; Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportability; Computer Resources; Supply Support; Technical Documentation; Design Interface including Reliability and Maintainability; Facilities; Support and Test Equipment; Training and Training Devices) is required. Technical leadership responsibilities to include both internally performed and subcontracted efforts. Candidate should be knowledgeable in the Preventative Maintenance, Field Support, Sparing Analysis, Warranty Processing, Remote Monitoring, and Remote Facilities & COTS electronics systems. The successful candidate will contribute both technically and from a leadership perspective toward achieving company goals for the ILS business. The individual must have in-depth understanding of ILS, both conceptually and at the performing level for all ILS task areas. Logistics experience in the Military sector is preferred. In addition to the technical skill set, the individual must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Must have proven leadership capabilities consistent with a team based work environment. Innovation, results orientation, and ability to work with little direct supervision are additionally important attributes of the individual. Job requires good interpersonal skills, ability to effectively work in an IPT environment, and interface well with customers, both internal and external. Must be self-motivated, work with minimal direction, and have the ability to multi-task. Must be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written communications. Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to perform essential functions in an office environment. Computer terminal and keyboard are sometimes heavily utilized. The candidate must have the ability to concentrate for extended periods of time. Some domestic and foreign travel may be required.
AA/AS minimum, BS preferred, in technical field (IE, ME, EE or comparable) or equivalent experience is preferred.
Applicant must have at least 8 years ILS experience including preparing plans, reports, and analyses of DOD systems. Job requires an Engineer with a strong ILS technical background to perform and document supportability analyses of various military systems. Job requires use of various computer modeling tools to support these analyses and development of associated plans and reports. Applicant must also be experienced with developing Maintenance Concepts/Maintenance Allocation Charts, Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), and Training Materials. Applicant must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, modeling concepts and implementation. Applicant must be familiar with ILS efforts as a whole and have experience in several of the following areas: Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Maintenance Analysis and procedures development, detailed system troubleshooting, Life Cycle Cost Analysis, spares modeling and analysis, reliability, maintainability, safety, human factors, ILS test efforts, and various documentation efforts.
Applicant must be capable of obtaining a US Security Clearance.
