Logistics and Transportation Manager needed for Fortune "Global 150" company.

Diversified Fortune 'Global 150' company that is a world leader in the design, manufacture, installation and service of commercial and industrial power systems is seeking a Logistics & Transportation Manager.

The qualified individual will:
'Manage the inland transportation of wind turbine equipment:
oPrepare site documentation for inclusion into the procurement packages.
oPlan and conduct site visits with the transportation companies prior to receiving quote being careful to cover all possible site conditions which could affect the on time delivery of equipment and materials to the site.
oBe aware of Federal, State and Local laws, regulations and permits relating to the movement of goods over the highways, bridges and tunnels; and assure compliance to local/state/national/international statutes and requirements.
'Coordinate the inland transport of equipment with site management and provide logistical support, planning and resolution of problems.
'Manage any claims that result from damage, delays or charges related to the inland transportation of equipment.
'Support the Wind Group in resolving problems resulting from ocean shipping damage:
oCoordinate port activities and handling of damaged parts.
oCoordinate in transportation of damaged equipment to repair facilities.
'Provide coordination in resolving shipments and the deliveries of components purchased in the US to include cable, wire, bolts, nuts, washers and other commodities).
'Plan and coordinate transportation activities to successfully complete installation and service of wind turbines in compliance with contract terms.
'Monitor and evaluate sub-contractor work to insure and confirm the work performed on is done in a professional manner with quality workmanship and materials.

Minimum education requirement is high school completion and at least (10) years related experience in heavy haul transportation.
