The Manager - Rail Quality is the key global leadership role within the rail bearing business with direct responsibility for rail business quality systems.  This a combination of supply chains, internal race manufacturing locations and assembly locations.  This position will be responsible for auditing of Timken and key suppliers globally as required, providing global support to maintain and enhance Timken brand across rail business,  and providing global systems and leadership support to maintain and enhance required customer certifications, currently  AARM1003, ISO9001.  The development and implementation of  standards and procedures as required and managing global investigation and response to customer complaints including containment are responsibilities of this position. The Manager will represent Timken quality along with sales and engineering with global customers and industry groups (AAR) for both reactive and proactive quality issues relating to Timken Rail Business.


 



Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in engineering or business or equivalent work experience.  The ideal candidate has leadership qualities, knowledge and experience with quality systems, knowledge and use of CI, Lean Six Sigma and auditing tools, knowledge and ability to quickly understand Timken rail business process, and strong communication skills with a passion for change-process improvement. Previous experience as a project or program manager is preferred. Automotive experience is a plus. Must be willing to travel internationally.
