MANUFACTURING PLANNER

DESCRIPTIONWichita, Kansas is the headquarters for Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., which was purchased by Onex Corp. from Boeing Commercial Airplanes in 2005. In addition to Wichita, the company has operations in Tulsa and McAlester, Oklahoma, and the United Kingdom. Spirit AeroSystems supplies commercial airplane assemblies and components, provides aftermarket support, and designs and fabricates tooling.

Job Description: Implements fabrication, assembly, or installation manufacturing plans by coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams. Develops tooling, interchangeability and replacement, and functional test plans. Using the established manufacturing process flow, defines sequences of events, develops text and graphics work instructions, manufacturing datasets, tooling requirements, manufacturing bills of material. Communicates with engineering teams to influence and clarify design concepts. Coordinates change incorporation, optimizes processes, addresses producibility issues and production and postproduction problems. Maintains configuration control of the manufacturing build plan. Interprets engineering drawings and specifications to create and revise manufacturing plans. Creates component specification plans for suppliers. Assists in the investigation and resolution of production and planning problems. Develops a knowledge of computer-aided graphic capabilities, manufacturing interfaces, and production shop requirements.REQUIREMENTS

Prefer 2 years of college, technical or vocational certificate, an associate?s degree, or 5 years? manufacturing experience. Knowledge of fabrication, assembly and integration of structures, tooling concepts, spares, airplane-on-ground repair, and welded and joined assemblies. Ability to determine the preferred process, assist in developing the design concept, an direct the manufacture of structural assemblies.
