Normal work hours are Sunday through Wednesday nights, 3 pm to 1 am.
Under limited supervision, will perform a variety of routine process operations in the fabrication of wafers, modules, or tape/head assemblies used in a Field Replaceable Unit (FRU).
To perform this function, experiences and activities as a Recording Head Operator III(II orI)must be met, so the person can work more independently. Applies product/process understandingand knowledge in order to perform tasks more effectively in a work area. Application of this understanding will be used to make judgments and decisions regarding work priorities. Must understand and practice all process procedures including Materials Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), safety evacuation, chemical handling, area dress codes, Electro Static Discharge (ESD), OSHA safety, and ergonomic requirements and maintains a safe and clean working environment. Utilizes basic statistical concepts and calculations such as Capability (Cpk), Defects Per Unit (DPU), and Parts Per Million (PPM) by performing process measurements in order to ensure manufacturing processes are operating to specification. Understands and can interpret common control charts in order to ensure machines and/or processes are operating according to specified tolerances needed to meet product quality standards. Operates equipment in one or more shops (wafer, machining, or assembly) and is certified at all process stations for area of responsibility. Certification is needed to ensure work stations are operated according to procedures. Generates and runs reports based on data input into the Equipment Maintenance Reporting System (Xsite) to better utilize equipment uptime. Demonstrates complete knowledge of the data tracking system (Seritrack) by performing pass/fail analysis, bonusing parts back to production, and shipping parts to the customer locations. This knowledge willbe used to assist peers in using the computer system and Works with engineering and manufacturing on process improvement techniques in order to maximize throughput and quality. This may be done by writing procedures, and experimental requests, or by assisting in preventive maintenance activities needed to troubleshoot process-related issues. Proficient at using computer applications for the equipment that is being operated, and can troubleshoot computer-related problems. Understands the functions of the manufacturing shop floor in all areas and can relay this information to others. Judges workload priorities in the area of responsibility to ensure equipment utilization and production schedules are met. Conducts effective meetings in order to relay infformationto their support groups and/or shops. This will be done by presenting ideas to the group and facilitating discussion. Explains process changes to others in a manner that is easy for others to understand. Thisis to help anticipate problems and develop contingency plans so process improvement strategies can be implemented. Acts as a functional contact for the shift in the event that a manager is not present, or helps to manage projects related to process & equipment improvements. Position requires minimal physical effort. High School diploma or equivalent; minimum of three to four (3-4) years Thin Film Tape Head or previous manufacturing experience desired; must pass Basic Skills testing.REQUIREMENTSMARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
4 10hour shifts, Sun through Wednesday. Some assignments require longer periods of standing to operate equipment or sitting using microscopes for inspection
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
High School diploma or equivalent. Six Sigma or TQM experience. Statistical Process Control, Microsoft or StarOffice, Hazcom,& Waste Generator training.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:
Thin Film Tape Head or previous manufacturing experience in a clean room environment. Leadership and Interpersonal skills. ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 experience.
