MATERIALS PROCESSES ENGINEER, SR.

This position works in the Materials and Processes Department and is located at our world-wide headquarters

in Irvine, California.

 

Position Summary

Evaluates a variety of technical and cost factors for products, materials, and manufacturing processes of

diverse/difficult scope and complexity, and recommends engineering and manufacturing actions to attain

design objectives. 

 

Auditing process of suppliers, investigation of NDT rejections, conduct failure analysis and material processing evaluations.

 

Position requires domestic and international travel (20%)

 

Recommends materials to ensure attainment of design objectives by reviewing plans for new products and

design factors such as strength, weight, and cost

 

Ensures lab operations and procedures meet current and future technical requirements. 

 

Assures compliance to process specification requirements by developing process audit criteria and

conducting detailed, complex process audits for suppliers located within the US and worldwide

 

 

Qualifications

Bachelors degree (BS) in engineering or a related technical.

 

6+ years related experience.

 

Experience in NDT with potential to advance in ASNT Level III within 2 years.

 

Knowledgeable in metal processing with emphasis on metal plating and coating (chrome, thermal spray, anodize, etc.)

 

Experience in auditing process suppliers.

 

Effective verbal and written communication.
