MTS Product Development Engin

Position Description:

SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS: Depending on the specific project assignment, will perform applicable functions from the following: 1. Supports product engineering with testing, debug, and data analysis of microprocessor products. 2. Conducts, analyzes, and reports on all product or technology reliability qualification activity. 3. Interfaces with Foundry Fab or Subcon partners to ensure Reliability and Quality of AMD''s microprocessor products. 4. Participates in the debug and corrective action process for yield and reliability problems. 5 . Provides technical direction in the analysis of design and performance trade-offs when making recommendations to improve reliability. 6 . Works on strategic product development and reliability improvement projects and/or assignments as needed. 7 . Interfaces with Process Development/Device Technology to jointly develop and structure Reliability rules for new devices. 8 . Acts as a driving force in keeping qualifications on schedule and tracking all technical requirements. 9 . Provides reliability related technical expertise for engineers in product development. ACCOUNTABILITY:Relied upon for technical direction of projects. Responsible for planning improvements to or innovations in product Reliability techniques or testing methodologies.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A technology related Bachelor''s degree plus 7 years, or equivalent combination of training and experience. A Master''s degree plus 5 years of experience is preferred. Requires working knowledge of VLSI processing, semiconductor physics, product engineering, system-level design and/or integrated circuit design. An advanced degree may reduce the minimum experience requirement.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Engineers, designs, qualifies, and ensures overall compatibility/compliance for K8 microprocessors from product definition through product qualification and into high volume production.
