Machine Design Engineer

 

We are actively seeking a Machine Design Engineer to support new equipment development programs and initiatives.

 

The Position:

 Translate customer performance requirements into efficient, reliable, and cost effective machine designs. Work effectively with technicians and customers to build, test, install and troubleshoot the new packaging machinery in a Team environment. Work effectively with machine shops, and other vendors/contractors to successfully bring design concepts to prototyping, and ultimately to commercial production, by ensuring that the individual components, component assemblies, and the assembled machines meet the intent of the design. Stay current with technical advancements in the markets we serve, and be a leader in assimilating new technologies into our offerings to the market. Provide engineering support during prototype assembly, performance testing, and commercial machine production.  Interact with and effectively support our Sales and Marketing efforts as needed.

 

 

The Requirements:

 

BS/MS Mechanical engineering degree required, Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred,Proven machine design track record. Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems in addition to mechanical systems required. 3-D CAD modeling experience required. Experience with state-of-the-art PLC control systems and PLC programming preferred. Exposure to various materials and substrates used in the packaging field would be beneficial. Knowledgeable in state-of-the-art part machining and fabricating techniques. Results for this position are measured in terms of new capabilities developed and new machinery commercialized.
