Maintenance Development Engineer

SUMMARY:

The Maintenance development engineer is an executing engineer who guides the EPC contractor?s engineers in the Procedure identification/classification, data collection, collation and finally writing the procedures. He reviews the EPC contractor input and finalizes the procedures for submission to the Company.

 AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: 

? Ensure all discipline activities are carried out in a safe manner and with full compliance to the project specifications and company requirements.

? Obtain input and data from the Vendors via the EPC contractor and subcontractor to enable planning, development and execution of the Maintenance Procedures and Work Aids.

? provide support for the Maintenance development effort as per the Operability Management Plan.

? The role will provide guidance and leadership in all matters relating to Operability and Coordinate all activities to complete the following on schedule:

1.  Preparation of Maintenance Procedures.

2.  Spare parts Management for Commissioning, Operating and Capital Spare Parts and Timely ordering of the same.

3.  Development of the O & M Manuals

4.  Safety Development.

5.  Training Development in coordination with Training Lead.

 

? Responsible to the Operability Lead for interacting with EPC contractor and Subcontractors. Coordinate with EPC contractor and major vendors to obtain their contributions on schedule, and carry out the quality checks on the input.

? Participate in the company lead efforts for carrying out Equipment Criticality Analysis, FMEA, and Task analysis and procedures classification.

? Liaise closely with the systems integrator to set up the operability database, maintain and update the same and use it for the development exercise. Get familiarized with the system so as to use it effectively and also to troubleshoot it in the absence of the Systems integrator.

? Liaise with EPC and the Vendors to obtain the required input on the Spares Parts management and integrate the same with the company Reliability Program requirements to arrive at optimum stocking levels of all the spares.

? Provide input to the Training Lead to develop the training programs to meet the company training requirements for the plant operators and Maintenance Technicians.

? Coordinate the FATs and participate in these on a selective basis.

? Plan and schedule all the activities for the maintenance development effort, develop the schedules and progress monitoring methods for the Maintenance development deliverables. Contribute to the management control reports

? Liaise with the Company procedure writers and reliability engineers for all routine and non routine matters.

? Ensure timely collation of all the data in the prescribed company formats and forward this to Company for the populating the CMMS.

? Contribute towards continuous alignment of objectives to achieve overall result within the budgeted man-hours

 

REQUIREMENTS:

An engineering degree with 10-12 years experience in Maintenance and planning departments of Oil and Gas Industry; experience in offshore working is a further advantage. Knowledge of modern CMMS is essential. Must be a team player with high safety awareness; Relevant applicable specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria; Oil and Gas facilities Maintenance practices and procedures; Company practices, processes, and expectations with respect to Maintenance Management planning; Fully conversant with the Industry standards for offshore safety and the safety procedures and Lock out procedures; Must be an excellent facilitator and must exhibit mature judgment in conjunction with sound and analytical reasoning; Proficient in MS Office suite of software programs, Lotus Notes, etc.; Must be willing to live and work in fabrication facility, construction camp, and offshore environment.
