Maintenance Planner

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.):



o Responsible for the production of a daily/weekly job schedule

o Plans and prepares detailed estimates for required materials, labor, and outside services

o Review work request scope definitions and descriptions for clarity and resolve ambiguities  with production coordinator.  In addition, review work requests for validity, proper coding, duplication, estimate accuracy, etc.

o Develop work job scope and timing through communication with production supervisor, maintenance supervisor, and engineers.  The scope and estimate development must include field verification or work requirements

o Review work request backing for timely processing and correct prioritization

o Create work requests in maintenance systems (CMMS, SAP) as needed or requested.

o Provide “point” communication with vendors on material ordered & scheduling.  Ensure outside purchased material arrives when promised & needed.

o Ensure that proper approvals are received for job scopes, purchases, plans before proceeding .

o Purchase necessary materials and services for work orders either from Stores or from outside vendors

o Provide input to materials management on supplier performance.

o Ensure that all purchases follow corporate guidelines and alliances.  Obtain approval for deviations to any of these guidelines, standards and practices.

o Chairs daily update and weekly scheduling meeting for assigned Production area

o   Plans and schedules major turnarounds

o Establishes spare parts requirements and updates stores as required

o Maintains equipment records for various departments

o Supports and participates in productivity improvements efforts

o Assures maintenance inspections are completed per maintenance procedures

o Writes annual Maintenance Work Orders

o Assigns equipment numbers for new equipment

o   Sets up new P.M.’s and assures P.M. schedule compliance.

o Provides direction to the Maintenance workforce during absence of the Maintenance Supervisoro Other duties and assignments as necessary

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
o Experience using SAP

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

o  Bachelors degree, Engineering degree preferred

o Three to five (3-5) years of experience in planning/scheduling of repair, maintenance of chemical plants preferred
