Maintenance Support Engineer/Broadcast Engineer
Function: Broadcast Engineer
Job Description: Primary duties include, but are not limited to a variety of engineering, maintenance and repair tasks of live and post-production equipment in a studio, remote and/or field broadcast situations related to live, pre-recorded, studio and field production, all in support of a 24x7 TV broadcast channel.
Job Location: Los Angeles (Howard Hughes Parkway @ Sepulveda Boulevard)
Essential Functions:
? Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, routine and preventive maintenance of broadcast and other technical equipment in a digital/analog broadcast and post-production facility.
? Monitor, analyze, and solve problems with RF, video, audio, cameras, digital switchers, digital routers, various digital and analog VTRs, digital video servers, character generator, on-air automation, satellite downlink, post-production, and non-linear editing systems.
? Perform other tasks, as assigned, including, but not limited to, Audio, Transmission and Satellite Control (TOC) Master Control and VTR operations, Perform same/similar duties on remote broadcasts, as assigned
? Produce, compile, update, and manage CAD drawings, and engineering documentation.
? Adhere to Company procedures and policies, and management directives
Qualifications/Requirements:
? Ten years overall broadcast engineering experience at a local TV station, cable/satellite channel or other industry-related activities
? Minimum five years experience working as a maintenance engineer in a live television studio, post-production or broadcast facility.
? Hands-on knowledge of broadcast systems and equipment, including analog/digital video/audio signals, monitoring and test equipment.
? Knowledge of CAD 2000-2005, strong computer and networks skills, SDI, TCP/IP, GBit Ethernet, fiber channel, and LANs, highly desirable.
? Must be self motivated, understand and support the concept of accurate documentation.
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Ability to travel to remote broadcast sites, as assigned
? Ability to work well in a broadcast team environment, including talent, producers and directors, under strict time deadlines
? Willingness and ability to work varied schedules and to work overtime and/or holidays
? Ability to lift and carry loads up to 70 pounds
