Manager 3, Engineering-RF

Maintains ultimate responsibility of leading an RF department in the design of UMTS at a Regional level. Provides guidance to the entire RF team and focuses the teams' efforts on the areas of highest strategic importance. Interacts with national, regional and market managers to execute the market/company objectives and initiatives. Assists regional RF Manager in devising and implementing processes to improve operational efficiency and network reliability. Interacts with the Regional RF manager and the FSC to define strategy and implement UMTS best practices.

Responsbilities:

- Act as the lead manager in the deployment of UMTS throughout the West Region
- Set, Monitor, and Coach individual performance goals to team members
- Set strategic targets and ensure execution on network performance objectives/guidelines
- Help facilitate design process improvements and best practices
- Active participation in market, regional and FSC activities as required
- Develop UMTS training seminars for local markets

Qualifications:

- Leadership Skills
- Effective Communication and Listening Skills
- Solid written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Strong GSM BSS / Optimization and RF System Design Knowledge
- Ability to Consistently Execute Against a Defined Set of Objectives
- Effective Troubleshooting Skills
- BS/BA in Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent technical degree plus 8+ years wireless experience
- In lieu of BS/BA degree, 10+ years of wireless experience will be considered
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- RF Design experience highly desired
- UMTS deployment experience highly desired
- Reporting & Presentation (Training also)
- Self-motivated and ability to work under pressure
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Driving record is within company compliance.
- Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
- Ability to work in a high-speed, intense environment while providing consistent results.
- Ability to exhibit flexibility and be willing to change direction / objectives upon short notice.
