Manager, Applications Engineering

Quartics is a mature startup semiconductor company in the video image processing product space.  We are working on exciting products in PC and consumer electronics convergence area, and are looking for motivated and self-starting individuals to join our dynamic team.

Quartics is seeking a Director/Manager of Applications Engineering.  This person will be responsible for building a team of applications engineers, and managing them and a virtual team of contractors.  Qualifications for this position are as follows:

 

  Responsibilities:

?  With minimal development engineering assistance, develop all customer-facing reference designs and software.

?  Manage all technical issues and interfaces with customers.

?  Develop technical data sheets with development engineering input

?  Do competitive analysis as required by product management, and proactively as competitive products come into view through customers or press.

?  Manage the interface with field applications engineers

?  With product marketing, prepare and present technical field training and updates to field applications and reps.

?  Create, manage and close bugs reported by customers

?  Manage a staff of hardware and software engineers, both employees and contractors

Required background:

?  BS/MS in Engineering or Computer science

?  10 years experience in engineering and engineering support

?  3 years experience in applications engineering

?  Related experience in a semiconductor or IP company
