Manager Business Development Contract Engineering

Position Summary:

 

The Manager Business Development is responsible for prospecting and developing business contacts and opportunities for contract engineering firm. This person will also have the direct responsibility to qualify business leads, leading to an RFQ or RFP. In addition, this position includes assisting and coordinating the proposal process for specific clients, including budget and pricing development, proposal writing, client presentations, contract negotiations, and ongoing client relationships.

 

Supplemental responsibilities include active participation in the development of the strategic business plan and tactical plans to meet the goals set forth in the plan.

 

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

? Pursue, Develop and Qualify pipeline of potential engineering business opportunities leading to an RFQ and RFP

? Evaluate and Maintain the financial potential of qualified business opportunities

? Track and provide monthly status reports on total pipeline and proposal activity

? Participate in the proposal process to provide timely and accurate input into the development of the proposal, as well as the timely submission to the client.

? Coordinate and Participate as needed in ?oral presentations?.

? Participate as required in contract negotiations.

? Develop and maintain client relationships

? Cultivate strategic and tactical partnerships

? Work with senior management and project teams to establish and meet strategic and tactical performance goals

? Work with operational groups to learn corporate capabilities to provide total solutions to our customers

 

Qualifications/Skill and Knowledge:BS/BA in Engineering (Manufacturing processes and construction preferable) and/or business degreeMinimum of five years experience in contract engineering sales/marketingWorking knowledge of engineering principles, practices and their application to customer requirementsStrong interpersonal communication skillsDemonstrated ability in developing and achieving annual plansDemonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
