Manager-Energy Efficiency

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or a related technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Typically possesses up to 5 years supervising experience a technically-oriented staff, or 5 + years performing Energy Efficiency work. Experience creating and managing cross functional development teams. Self-starter. capable of overcoming obstacles to achieve goals. Experience managing a group of professionals, creating performance plans, providing performance feedback, and coaching.  Must possess expert level technical knowledge of residential home/facility & system energy efficiency concepts, design and practices; industry practices and a broad knowledge of residential customer characteristics; Federal and State energy policies, regulations, and legislation; Public Utilities Commission policies and procedures governing the design and operation of ratepayer-funded demand-side management/energy efficiency programs; outsourcing scope/cost/schedule development, implementation, and implementation /management. Experience developing and implementing strategic plans that have operational and financial impact on the company. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to customer?s needs, facilitate the presentation of recommendations, resolve conflict and negotiate effectively with others. Experience interfacing and/ or collaborating with customers, regulators, market participants, engineers/ technical specialists, program managers, group managers and division heads in developing effective solutions and facilitating cooperation between departments. Able to analyze information and making sound decisions that have considerable business impact.

Preferences:
Master's degree (MBA/MA/MS). Demonstrated knowledge of demand side management programs (energy efficiency, demand response, load management, customer generation) and related policies, practices and procedures; Demonstrated knowledge of Edison's tariffs; Demonstrated knowledge of California Public Utilities Commission policies and procedures related to public benefit demand side management.

Typical Responsibilities:
Will manage multiple projects involving the planning, development, design and analysis of energy efficiency programs for SCE's residential customers, and will lead a group of comprised of a project manager, engineer and analyst to carry out various energy efficiency program planning, analysis and design projects in support of Edison's Energy Efficiency Division's Residential Portfolio Management Group. Management of highly technical and complex planning and analysis projects to incorporate strategic objectives, policy, market conditions and customer requirements into energy efficiency programs for SCE's residential customers; creating and maintaining budgets, scope and schedule for the planning and analysis projects; managing the daily functional work of a staff to complete highly complex and technical planning and analysis projects to create new customer programs and/or improve existing programs; representing Edison with other California program administrator staff, regulatory staff, public advisory groups, peer review groups, and contractors/third-party service providers in energy efficiency program planning, design and analysis; creating, and ensuring the technical accuracy of energy savings estimates/calculations and other technical characteristics, economic parameters of energy savings measures such as total cost, incremental cost and economic life, cost effectiveness calculations including total resource cost and utility cost ratios; incorporating  evaluation report technical findings and recommendations into current and future program designs; evaluation of proposals for technical support and program implementation; developing and managing professional services contracts and contracts for program implementation.
