Manager - Engineering and Technical Services
Wichita, Kansas is the headquarters for Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., which was purchased by Onex Corp. from Boeing Commercial Airplanes in 2005. In addition to Wichita, the company has operations in Tulsa and McAlester, Oklahoma, and the United Kingdom. Spirit AeroSystems supplies commercial airplane assemblies and components, provides aftermarket support, and designs and fabricates tooling.
Job Description:
Engineering and Technical Services Manager ? Grade/Level L As the upper level manager of engineering and technical services for the Aftermarket Customer Support Business Unit, the candidate will exert influence in the development of overall objectives and long-range goals for the business unit. The candidate will establish organizational reporting relationships, operating policies and procedures, and conduct the people, budget and business-related process for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
* Direct Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) activities for the Aftermarket Customer Support Business Unit; coordinate reverse engineering efforts.
* Direct repair/liaison support for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) efforts
* Hiring, staffing, team building for high performing technical services team.
* Interface with other Aftermarket groups, other Spirit business units and engineering support functions, airline & OEM customers, and suppliers.REQUIREMENTSSkills & Qualifications
* Status as a Structural ?DER? is highly desired and experience in repair station operations, after market, or airline environment is a plus.
* Ten years in an engineering classification required along with 3 years minimum experience in a lead or management function.
* Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in engineering with major in Aeronautical or Mechanical or equivalent is required.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to respond to customer requirements
