Manager - Platform Development

We are currently seeking an experienced Platform Development Manager.  The successful candidate will have responsibility for enhancing our current generation platform as well as the development of our next generation of high performance products.


 


Key skills for this position include:


 


* Hands-on experience implementing hardware and software solutions, with an emphasis on hardware.


* System architecture design, component selection, printed circuit design, thermal design, and performance evaluation and optimization, processes and tools for design of hardware systems


* Experience implementing and maintaining the following software components:  BIOS, Stand-alone utilities, Network Interface drivers, Hardware Drivers, and FPGA programming. Both Intel Assembly and C Code will be used. Creating reliable, high-value solutions will be key to success.


* Proven track record in designing and implementing fast path sub-systems using ASICs, network processors and specialized ICs.


* Experience with embedded development environments, real time kernels and operating systems, networking protocols


* Experience implementing hardware for FreeBSD or Linux operating systems


 Qualified candidates will have a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, and will have had at least 6 years experience specifying and designing hardware for Network Elements or Computer Systems. Candidates must have had 2+ years of prior experience leading/managing a platform development team. A background in the Networking industry is mandatory.  Strong communication (verbal and written) is a must, with an ability to interact well cross-functionally, make key decisions and drive projects to closure.
