General Description

Manage the production function to meet cost, tonnage and quality demands of the O?Neal Plant

Reports4 Production Supervisors and 14 Hourly EmployeesEssential knowledge, skills and ability

?  Must have technical degree.  Lime or Cement experience a plus.

?  Possess proven leadership skills

?  Demonstrated knowledge of kiln operation theory and practice

?  Proven literacy in standard office software (Word. Excel, or equivalent)

?  Demonstrated knowledge of kiln refractory practices strongly desired

?  Be physically capable of accessing all operational areas

?  Proven knowledge of basics in plant mechanical fundamentals

?  Interaction with governmental agencies, engineering, personnel, logistics and sales will be required on a routine basis

?  Minimum 5 years experience in an industry utilizing rotary kilns

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

?  Direct Shift Supervisors and employees to achieve plant budget and goals

?  Maintain an environmentally sound workplace through regulatory compliance and pro-active actions

?  Coordinate daily maintenance needs in conjunction with the planner/maintenance

?  Ensure production schedules are met to satisfy shipping commitments and minimize inventory related outages

?  Responsible for kiln refractory plans, budget and installation.

?  Maintain kiln brick charts in an organized, up to date and professional manner

?  Coordinate in-bound lime and limestone

?  Responsible for the production budget at the O?Neal Plant

?  Implement and enforce safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment within the production department

?  Control fuel inventory for kilns

?  Comply with company, state and government regulations

?  Assist on month end closing by providing timely production numbers

?  Develop operating and capital budgets for production department

?  Utilize the DWOR (Daily Weekly Operating Report) to set production priorities, attend the daily DWOR meeting and lead meeting in the absence of the Plant Manager
