Manager, Quality Assurance Engineering
Description: The Quality Assurance Manager will have a significant impact on the lifecycle and overall quality of RSA's extensive product suite. The QA Manager is responsible for ensuring that all product features are fully tested in accordance with requirements, software design, and industry standards. This position requires significant experience with enterprise level software and managing a team of QA engineers that are located globally. This individual should have strong experience in managing and developing automation frameworks for api testing, gui testing, and command line testing. This individual should also be able to drive new automation efforts and strategies. The Quality Assurance Manager will work closely with cross functional peers to estimate, schedule, and manage qualification efforts. Management of staff, ongoing risk analysis, and effective communication are critical to the success of this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Manage a team of quality assurance engineers globally including outsourced contractors
o Develop and/or manage automation frameworks in junit, cppunit, winrunner, and custom script based frameworks.
o Evaluate software applications against design specifications and user requirements and determine test efforts and amount of risk taken with the planned approach.
o Generate test plans, test matrixes, and schedules for large projects.
o Create goals and objectives and write individual performance reviews.
o Knowledge of Web servers (Apache, IIS, SunOne), application servers (WLS/WAS), Windows (Win32) and UNIX system administration, relational databases (Oracle), LDAP directories (Active Directory).
o Collaborate with other engineers and team members to devise new or improved techniques for solving problems.
o Implement standard software methodologies, models and practices as required.
o The Quality Assurance Manager will interact with other engineers, communicating technical concepts and challenges and soliciting input from other groups; as well as members of the Documentation and Build teams; Product Management and other Engineering groups.
Qualifications:
o Previous Management of a QA team for 5 years or more.
o Minimum of 4 years testing enterprise software experience (5-7 years preferred).
o Basic programming skills (i.e. Java or C).
o Working experience with Java, including junit.
o Working experience with Win Runner.
o Knowledge of LDAP directories (specifically Active Directory) and relational databases.
o Knowledge of HTTP Servers and Application Servers.
o Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle.
o Experience with a defect tracking system (e.g. Bugzilla).
o Experience creating test plans, test matrixes, and schedules.
o TestDirector experience a plus.
o WebLogic experience a plus.
o Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent communication skills.
o Bachelor's degree in applicable field, preferably Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
