Description

The Manager of Software Engineering is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and evolution of the manufacturing test tools and software testing for QLogic?s Fibre Channel Switch products. The ideal candidate will have the right mix of experience found in start-up organizations coupled with a can-do attitude and the diplomacy skills necessary for success in a larger organization. You will be responsible for the development of all manufacturing test tools, and test verification of tools developed for QLogic Switch products. You will lead a core team of software engineers to deliver products on time and with high quality.



The right candidate will have solid management experience leading a team of software engineers, excellent software project management skills and excellent communication skills.



Responsibilities Include:



Manage a team of software engineers to develop manufacturing tools for QLogic?s family of fibre channel switches on time and with high quality.
Develop manage and maintain project schedules for all assigned projects, completing projects on time and with high quality.
Improve software development process and methodologies, including implementing code reviews and software design verification improvements.
Work with product management to clearly define product requirements.
Work with Release testing and manage reported software bugs. Track bug fix progress and improve time to bug closure.
Lead cross functional project development teams as assigned.
Participate in core teams as the key member for the switch management area.
Manage departmental budget and perform employee reviews.
Manage the software development lab and manage unit level testing of Switch Software
Work directly with customers to define and refine customer?s product requirements, and manage switch qualifications at customer site.

 Required Skills

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, or the equivalent in training and experience, and a minimum of 12 years related experience and 3-7 years experience in Engineering Management. Incumbents must possess management ability and a high level technical background to manage assigned projects. Candidates should have successful experience in leading the development of user interface design, the ability to understand and coordinate with other departments and previous experience in development of C/C++ in embedded systems and Java development. Experience in Fibre Channel and Storage Area Networking is strongly desired.
