Manager-Systems Interoperability

Lead and manage an engineering team responsible for all activities related to verifying interoperability of WMS electronic gaming machine (EGM) operating systems (OSs) with each Host / Progressive / Bonusing system available in the gaming industry.

The systems Interoperability Manager will oversee the interoperability testing of each System with WMS EGM OSs, especially as it relates to protocol communications. This person will manage the creation, implementation and execution of test scripts and test cases, designed to ensure WMS EGM OSs are able to support customer demanded functionality in each gaming industry system, communicating any issues with the appropriate development department and working jointly to resolve them. This will include managing relationships with each of the system vendors supporting open communication and cooperation to validate WMS EGM OS interoperability with each vendor's system.


Qualifications Required
B.S. in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Minimum 7 years experience in the gaming industry with a minimum of 5 years working specifically with gaming protocol design development or testing.
Experienced in electronic EGM operations and host systems operation.
Experienced leading, supervising and managing an engineering team.

Responsibilities
Manage department activities to ensure interoperability of WMS EGM OSs with each System by testing both gaming protocol implementation to protocol specifications and each host system's protocol implementation.
Create Problem Identification (PID) entries in the WMS product quality database communicating the creation and details behind each PID to the applicable development department ensuring sufficient visibility to real-world casino/system operation impacts, testing fixes as they are provided.
Assist Jurisdictional Engineering in creating regulatory body mandated OS changes documents so as to accurately capture any OS changes made specifically to address interoperability issues.
Provide Jurisdictional Engineering with Interoperability Testing reports for those jurisdictions requiring such.
Track all PIDs created for a particular family of WMS EGM OSs to ensure complete understanding of the interoperability capabilities/limitations of each.
Build relationships with each system vendor emphasizing mutual benefits in sharing knowledge to co-develop protocol implementations and adoption of and adherence to industry standards.
Anticipate and resolve technical issues related to WMS EGM OS and System interfaces by establishing trusted working relationships with internal development and test departments.
work with Field Service, Sales and the Incident Response Team to investigate player tracking & other equipment integration/interoperability issues with WMS EGMs.
Assist Field Service by providing OS configuration options documentation supplemental to formal installation manuals.
Develop and manage budgets for dept.
Mentor all engineering staff within department using first hand knowledge/experience of protocols, test tools/plans, and casino experience in regards to host system usage.
Assist Sales in communicating to casino operators, which System features/functions are supported by which WMS EGM OS.
Continuously seek to improve submission and approval logging processes and procedures.
