Manager Systems Test Engineer

MANAGER SYSTEMS TEST ENGINEER

 

Manage an Atlanta team of (7) system test engineers to provide new-feature software testing of the domestic Digital Broadband Delivery System (DBDS).  The DBDS encompasses the Digital Network Control System (DNCS) and headend components such as the QAM, QPSK, EAS, and encryption devices.  This team must develop the software product test plans & test procedures, execute the test plans, create/test/dispatch Change Request?s (CR?s) via Clarify bug tracking system, then provide the test results necessary to determine software readiness. This team also provides Engineering Support to both internal and external customers for new system releases and escalated field issues.

 

Direct the Chennai, India team of (6) test engineers, including a first-level manager.  The Chennai test team responsibilities include the overall regression testing of the domestic DBDS and the end-to-end integration & regression of the international DBDS.

 

Interact with product development managers, product strategy & marketing and program managers to coordinate software product testing and availability.  Coordinate testing of all product-related trouble reports (CR?s) as well as interface with patch committee for testing of patch-level software.  Manage the package and delivery of reliable system software to the Systems Verification Team (SVT) and other internal/external labs.  The software package includes release notes, test plans, test results, updated problem reports, feature documentation, approved media, and completed entry forms.



Required Experience:3 years personnel management experience, must have managed at least (3) direct reports to qualify3 + years experience in managing software product testingProficient user of problem tracking systemsExperienced user of Microsoft Office, Project and VisioCapable in UNIX environmentKnowledge of local and wide area networks

 

Preferred Experience:Project managementKnowledge of digital television networksWorking knowledge of the Digital Broadband Delivery System

 

Preferred Education:

? Bachelor?s degree in computer technology
