Manufacturing Engineer I

Job Description: Position available is Manufacturing Engineering at the Raytheon Forest, MS Consolidated Manufacturing Center, Conformal Coat and Bond Area. At the site, Raytheon produces high technology electronics assemblies for the Department of Defense. The area processes approximately 1200 complex circuit cards per month. Candidate would be responsible for engineering support of existing component bonding and conformal coat processes for airborne and battlefield circuit card assemblies. Processes are monitored using Statistical Process Control so a background in Statistics or Design of Experiments is helpful. Tasks include designing bonding templates, tools and manufacturing aids. Process troubleshooting must use a methodical approach based on data. Works with design engineers to resolve design issues. Works with Integrated Product Team Lead and process operators to maximize process yields. Attends daily process focus team meetings to reduce defects and address process issues. Qualifies new process breakthroughs to improve product quality, reduce cost and cycle times. Implements new processes as new programs are brought to production. Develops training packages and trains operators as required.

Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to Engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Desired Skills: AutoCAD or ProE Design Software, proficient in Statistics and/or Design-of-Experiments

Required Education(including Major): BS in Chemical, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
