Marketing Engineer, System Applications (Mechatronics)

Description:
The Marketing Engineer, System Applications for Mechatronics is responsible for supporting the sales team with pre-sales technical issues in mechatronics-type applications. Pre-sales support includes system modeling and analysis, motor and actuator sizing, system architecture review (both mechanically and electrically) / systems recommendations, customer visits, and the creation of application notes and white papers. In addition, it requires a working, practical knowledge of Rockwell Automation products applied in this domain. Post sales support will also be required at times to analyze existing systems in order to improve or troubleshoot existing systems. Will use focused design methodology and sophisticated real time computation to solve customer's mechatronics issues. The Marketing Engineer, System Application is an expert in assigned groups of products/technologies and the applications of those products/technologies.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Bachelor of Science in a Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Two years field experience in designing, startup and troubleshooting electromechanical control systems.

- Experience in Motion Control applications and associated products.
- Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink with direct application modeling of electronic controlled mechanical systems
- Solid understanding of control theory, kinematics, and machine mechanics.
- Experience with industrial control networks such as SERCOS, PROFInet, and EtherNet/IP.
- Programming experience in C, C++, and Visual Basic.
- Working knowledge of control and/or computer systems.
- Good communication and networking skills.
- Solid business writing skills.
- Able to perform multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize.
- Familiarity with test equipment and software.
- Systems troubleshooting ability (possibly utilizing telephone skills).
