We have several positions within our Marketing Department with responsibility for management assistance in the development of the marketing effort for a major program, product or market segment.  Functions affected are acquisition of orders and programs, product planning and introduction, orders received forecast, pricing, market and competitive analyses, sales promotion, and customer relations.  The incumbent has customer contacts at the medium level and assists in developing input to strategic business and development plans.  The incumbent assists in formulating and executing marketing and sales plans, programs and objectives to ensure timely response to customer problems and requirements.  The thought process is circumscribed by established practices and policies with analytical, interpretative, evaluative and/or constructive thinking in variable situations to ensure proper program control.  The individual is technically competent in appropriate engineering discipline and operations or has conceptual consultative skills. 

 

Bachelor?s degree in engineering or marketing or equivalent education, training, and/or experience.  A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the area of marine marketing.  A thorough knowledge of marine industry, including shipping operations, naval architecture and shipyard operation is desired.  A broad knowledge of company business plans, development programs, policies and procedures.  Good communication skills including tactfulness, cooperation, diplomacy and powers of persuasion are helpful.
