Material & Environmental Compliance Engineer

Qimonda's development center in Cary, NC is looking for an outstanding, talented Application Engineer to keep us at the forefront of DRAM technology.  We invite qualified applicants to apply!


 


The position will be responsible for managing and coordinating customer support topics and will interact with Field Applications Engineers and Sales Engineers to meet the needs of the end customer.  There will be a focus on material content and packaging related topics.  The position will also serve as a liaison between the Applications Engineering Department and internal product development teams.  The position will require interfacing with wide-range of disciplines and locations within the company.


 


Required Education: BSChE or BSEE required,


 


Required Skills:  Excellent knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and package material technology.  Understanding of DRAM uses and functionality.  Basic knowledge of chemical and material nomenclature and testing techniques.  Excellent communication skills on technical and business level. Technical documentation of results. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple task and topics simultaneously.


 


Desired Experience: Experience with material analysis testing and reporting.  Experience with corporate environmental compliance programs.


 


Responsibilities:


 


·  Coordinate, prioritize, and answer customer’s technical questions and requests for documentation.


·  Align needs of customer requests with Sales, Marketing, and R&D functions.


·  Evaluate customer environmental and material requirements against internal processes, standard industry practice, and legal requirements.  Highlight any areas of concern to management.


·  Participate on team setting internal policies and strategies regarding hazardous substances.


·  Track industry and legal trends regarding restricted materials.





 



Qualifications:

Engineer 1: MSEE or BSEE with no industry experience
Engineer 2: MSEE + 1 year experience or BSEE + 6 years experience
Senior Engineer:  MSEE + 2 years experience or BSEE + 7 years experience
Staff Engineer:  MSEE + 5 years experience or BSEE + 10 years experience
