Materials Engineer

Sensus Metering Systems, a leading worldwide provider of water, gas, and electric meters; clamp and coupling products; and Automated Meter Reading (AMR) systems has an immediate opening for Materials Engineer in Uniontown, Pennsylvania:

 

The Materials Engineer will test and evaluate materials used for water, gas and electric metering products and systems.  Position will also troubleshoot existing materials and products as necessary to support production and application requirements. 

 

This position requires a BS in Materials, Chemical, Metallurgical Engineering or related sciences and a minimum of five years of experience in the field of materials science and testing.  Candidates must have the ability to operate various materials testing/laboratory equipment; develop testing methods and programs; and construct test set-ups for non-standard and unique applications. Knowledge of NSF certification, ASTM material standards and testing methods, and competency with MS Excel and Word are required.  Must be able to interface well with all areas of the business (marketing, customer service, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, etc.) as well as outside vendors.
