Job Description
Perform metallurgical analysis to optimize product designs and improve process quality and throughput.Perform metallurgical failure analysis of product.
Key engineer supporting x-ray tube brazing processes, equipment and production requirements.
Develop new and improved brazing, cleaning, and processes.
Transfer brazing and cleaning processes from laboratory to production equipment.
Support development and qualification of suppliers for precision cleaning, brazing, welding and fabrication.
Support development of engineering specifications and procedures for brazing and cleaning processes.
Requirements
BS in metallurgy or related field required. 0-5 years experience in materials testing or metallurgy required.
Experience with metallurgy lab practices: sectioning, etching, SEM, micro-hardness, grain structure required.
Hands on experience with materials and processes used in the manufacture of high vacuum devices, such as brazing, welding, precision cleaning, precision machining and assembly is desired.
Hands on experience with designing braze processes, and supporting production brazing equipment is desired.
Excellent communication skills for interaction with suppliers are required.
