Position Description:
Chevron Energy Technology Company is accepting online applications for Materials & Corrosion Engineers (50151885) located in various international locations and in Houston, Texas through December 31, 2006.

Qualifications:
This posting is for Materials & Corrosion Engineers.
CORROSION:
o Able to develop and implement an effective corrosion monitoring and mitigation program in support of an overall mechanical integrity focus. This includes directing the chemical corrosion inhibitor program, cathodic protection program, and painting program and the work of contract service providers . This scope applies to all stationary equipment which includes pressure vessels, pipelines, tanks, interconnecting piping, and structures, etc.
o Technically competent in Corrosion Engineering. Demonstrated experience and results in an operating environment.
o Experience with chemical corrosion programs in an offshore environment.
o Experience with cathodic protection systems and painting programs in an operating environment.
MATERIALS:
o Knowledge of materials properties & effects of fabrication methods on those properties
o Knowledge of fracture mechanics analysis, including testing.
o Knowledge of chemistry & microstructure effects on toughness
? Incident Free Operations. Must be able to champion safety performance of company and contractors.
? Interpersonal and Teamwork Skills: Self starter with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross functional, multinational team.
? Demonstrated project management skills. Experience in managing multiple small to major capital projects.

- Bachelor's degree required in Metallurgical, Materials, or Corrosion Engineering.
