Position Description:

MECHANIC POSITIION

Lang Exploratory Drilling was founded in 1972 by Alan F. Lang in Wausau, Wisconsin. In 1983, Lang moved to Salt Lake City, UT. Lang presently has shop facilities in Salt Lake City, UT and Elko, NV. Currently throughout the entire Lang organization, there are approximately 350 field employees, and 60 shop employees working 51 in 11 Western States, Alaska and Canada.

Lang has diversified over the years and now, along with exploration drilling, Lang is involved in environmental drilling and large diameter, methane drilling, oil shale, pre-collaring for oil rigs and deep water wells.

Lang has openings for mechanics in their Salt Lake City facility. Work schedule is 10 days on and 4 days off, with an average of 50 to 55 hours per week. Applicants must be able to pass mechanic test, which consists of some math problems and simple mechanical questions.

Lang custom builds their own drill rigs, winch and crane trucks, doghouse trucks, water and mud mixing tanks, and all drilling tools. Lang also does all the maintenance and repair on their equipment. Prospective applicants must have experience in hydraulics, air brakes, bearings, clutches, wiring, mud pumps, etc.

Starting pay depends on an applicants experience and abilities. When employees are working away from home, they are paid Lodging Allowance. Additional benefits include 401k, paid holidays, paid vacation, medical, dental, disability and life insurance.

All Lang employees are considered ?drivers? by the Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) and therefore must be able to satisfy D.O.T. requirements. D.O.T. requirements include a drives physical, N.I.D.A. drug screen and possession of a Commercial Drivers License. These requirements and the CDL License can be obtained through Lang.
