Mechanical Conveyor Engineer / Estimator

About the Opportunity Help Daifuku America Corporation succeed by doing your part as an Mechanical Conveyor Engineer (Estimating) who will design and estimate automotive material handling systems for all major phases of the automotive line. The successful applicant must have first hand engineering knowledge of material handling systems including Power & Free Conveyors, Skillet Conveyors, Slat Chain Conveyors, Skid Conveyors, Electrified Monorail Systems, Lifters and Part Carriers.

Qualifications

Required

Must have at least 2 years experience with?the design and estimation?of Power & Free Conveyor Systems.

Must have experience in system design and implementation in an industrial or manufacturing enviroment. Automotive manufacturing expereince is strongly perferred.

Strong skills and eperience in estimating total costs for mechanical and structural componenets of material handling systems. Experience in bid proposals a plus.

Must be able to perform engineering studies to develop reliable and optimum systems based on our automotive customer's requirements.

Must be proficent in AutoCAD (2000 or higher), Excel, Word, Power Point and MS Project.

BS in Mechanical Engineering

Preferred

Experience with Automotive Customer Specifications.

Experience communicating regular status to clients, superiors, and peers.

Basic experience writing hardware specifications.

Ability to provide immediate supervision to employees, assigning tasks, scheduling shifts, and checking work at frequent intervals.

Knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures.

Knowledge of quality and inspection requirements, manufacturing processes, and measurement techniques.
