RESPONSIBILITIES
The scope of this position includes responsibility for design, material selection, assembly, processing and testing aspects in the development of applicators and catheters for minimally invasive cardiovascular steerable catheters.
Duties include executing hands-on R&D projects to tailor designs for applicators and catheters, to conceptualize and implement fabrication, assembly and process improvements and performing tests to verify the suitability of designs for the targeted applications.
Additional responsibilities for this position include decision making on engineering problems and methods, execution and supervision of plans developed to carry out complex assignments and to identify production requirements for the manufacturing of devices, identification, qualification and management of contract manufacturers and suppliers.
This position requires application of company safety and quality policies and procedures, assisting on technical issues and the identification and protection of intellectual property related to applicator and catheter design. Support of regulatory submissions, QA and ISO registration activities is also required.

 

REQUIREMENTS
-Demonstrated ability to apply theoretical and practical mechanical engineering fundamentals and experimental engineering techniques


-Experience in research and development of applicator, catheter or similar devices. Additionally, knowledge in medical device technologies, catheter based systems or associated technologies.


-Demonstrated ability to operate in a cross-functional technical team environment, execute complex tasks under minimum supervision, provide clear direction and communicate detailed recommendations and results.


-SolidWorks experience


-Minimum BS or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering or Material Engineering.


-5 or more years of related experience.
