Mechanical Engineer – Cab Structures

Our Fortune 500 client, a Global Manufacturer of locomotives and OHV?s, located in Erie, PA has an immediate, contract opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer ? Cab Structures.

Job Description:
Productivity is primary objective for this engineering position. The candidate will look for new ways to take existing base designs and improve the cost through new design without impacting the customer requirements, performance reliability, maintainability, etc. The engineering subsystem is Cabs Structures & Packaging. This team?s responsibility is to own the structural design & integrity of the various cabs that make up a locomotive. In addition, this team is tasked to package the equipment that is specified by the customer (internal/external) such as electronics, blowers, compressors, etc. Cab Structures & Packaging also has the responsibility for the Operator Cab equipment and ergonomic design such as seats, consoles, HVAC, electronic placement, etc. This candidate will be part of a cross-functional team to identify, design, validate, & implement design productivity projects impacting the Cab Structures & Packaging Engineering Subsystem.

Candidate Requirements:
A. BS in ME, Civil, or Structural Engineering. MS a plus B. Demonstrated project leadership skills C. Strong interpersonal, oral, & written skills D. Accomplishments that reflect speed, accountability, integrity, & teamwork E. Experience in structural, mechanical, or packaging a plus F. Experience working in manufacturing environment a plus
