Mechanical Engineer 3

This position involves the development of mechanical systems for high reliability environments.  Designs will vary from small electronic enclosures to large systems level designs.  Responsibilities will mainly focus on system and component level analysis, both thermal and structural.  This is a hands on position which will require involvement form conceptual design through system integration.

 

Final grade determination will be made based on qualifications of the selected candidate.


The following are the Basic Qualifications for the position:

Bachelors degree in a related field and 4 years experience
A minimum of 5 years hands on with Solid Modeling with Pro/Engineer, along with current knowledge of a PLM systems, such as Windchill. 
Experience with high-high-density thermal management is preferred as well as experience in packaging of RF and digital equipment, for EMI/EMC environments. 
Sheet metal and machine part design background required.
Proven hands on experience with FEM.  Hands on with flowtherm, mechanica, etc. 
A minimum of 2 years of analysis experience.
Capable of performing environmental and thermal tests as well as capable of generating test reports. 
Must be capable of generating and reviewing engineering drawings to MIL-DTL-31000, ASME Y14.100, and fully understand dimensioning and tolerances per ANSI Y14.5. 
Good interpersonal, written and communication skills are a must. 
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Due to the nature of work at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems U.S. Citizenship is Required
Experience in the following areas is an asset:

Pro/E Wildfire, FEM, flowtherm, ansys
Working knowledge of environment testing per MIL-810 is highly desirable.
