Mechanical Engineer (DoD, Defense Industry)

Candidates must have the following skills and/or experience:
* BSME (or higher) in Engineering from an accredited institution.  MS desirable.  Proven system design skills and experience in developing and documenting integrated projectile, missile or other weapon system conceptual design layouts, including ability to define/manage subsystem space allocations, and form factors for electronic devices, estimate/manage system mass properties, and to conduct technical assessments of design concept alternatives.
* Proven ability to develop concepts into working designs that meet system requirements, to include detailed definition of robust internal/external structural and mechanical interfaces, and network harness integration, routing and installation approaches.  Strong Pro/E (v21 or higher) solid modeling and drawing skills, with experience generating and working with large assemblies.

Preferred candidates will have the following skills and related work experience:
* Experience working on ammunition or guided missile systems development for the Department of Defense.
* Ability to generate alternative conceptual design layouts for complex guided projectile internal packaging arrangements, to include airframe structure, aerodynamic control surfaces, actuation systems, fuze systems and system electronics.
* Experience in developing network interconnects for power and data transmission between guidance, navigation and control subsystems and components.
* Experience designing structures, subassemblies and components for high-G shock environments.
* Ability to generate interface control documentation and associated requirements to support management of subcontractor development activities, as well as part and assembly engineering design drawings.
* Sound structural/mechanical analytical skills, with demonstrated experience performing preliminary calculations for sizing of flight structures, mounted component attachments, linkage systems, and power transmission.
