Mechanical Engineer - Fluidics

Product offerings include; central laboratory testing, molecular testing, test instruments and reagents and medical diagnostic systems.

 

CDI, the on-site recruiting group for our client, is currently searching for talented people to join their successful organization.  Their Research and Development Group is currently adding a Mechanical Engineer to their team. 

 

Job Description:
The incumbent must have experience bringing new products through the development cycle (from conception to commercialization).  Responsibilities include conceptual design, selection, development and implementation of robust, reliable and cost effective fluid, heat transfer, vacuum and pneumatic control systems within in-vitro diagnostic products.

 

Responsible for design of experiments and modeling techniques in support of specification development. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work within team based projects. Creativity, novelty of outlook and vision are absolutely required.



Competence:
Provide technical and design expertise for all aspects of fluid, vacuum and pneumatic control system design within the Mechanical Engineering function.
Provide technical expertise for all aspects of fluid actuation, sensing and control for diagnostic products.
Develops fluidic, micro fluidic, vacuum and pneumatic architectural designs and error budgets for diagnostics products.
Ensure the timely and successful commercialization of high quality, easily manufactured products which meet internal and customer requirements.
Ability to analyze, evaluate, and make sound technical recommendations.
Must be skilled in working with all levels of management and professionals in defining problems and proposals.
Experience in dealing with vendors in a professional manner to resolve problems or solicit solutions.
Certified in fluid analysis and simulation techniques (FLUENT CFD, COSMOS) or equivalent.
Experience in developing clinical diagnostic instruments is a strong plus.
