Mechanical Engineer Staff (Fluid Handling)

Essential Functions and Duties:

Responsible for performing professional mechanical engineering research, design, development, modification, and evaluation in support of the company's complex semiconductor capital equipment and systems, and their mechanical components. Determine design approaches and parameters. Propose, review and evaluate designs. Generate and/or direct layout/design activities and verify accuracy of final documentation. Analyze and select components and equipment, as well as evaluate supplier capabilities. Design and conduct independent experiments or tests. Define problems and objectives, develop approach, analyze results and provide recommendations. Direct and manage design implementation of required changes and modifications. Must be able to define and manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects and be able to direct support personnel, engineers, technicians, to meet project milestones.

Experience and emphasis on liquid and gas handling architecture design and component selection. Ability to design and characterize complex systems that blend, control temperature and control flow of liquid and gas mixtures. Ability to design and characterize complex systems that perform phase changes from liquid to gas and vice versa of complex chemicals. Requires thorough understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and chemistry.
