Product Safety and Compliance Engineer ( Mechanical )

As a Product Safety and Compliance Engineer for this alternative energy company, you will be responsible for ensuring the product (components and systems) meets fuel cell and industry standards, testing components to specified standards, documenting test results, and resolving product deficiencies.  This will include conducting HAZOP reviews to evaluate the safety of the product.  You will coordinate and manage external and internal resources in the listing and recognition of products and components with external test agencies, such as UL, CSA, etc., and to resolve and make recommendations in instances of non-compliance. 

 

This is the kind of job where you will always be busy, have a lot of variety and work with departments throughout the company.  You will work through the design life-cycle and make important contributions to design decisions related to compliance and safety.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor?s degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering. Prefer 3+ years experience in product design and test. Experience with Pro-E is a plus.

 

You should have project engineering experience to manage multiple requirements and their progress.  Be prepared to share a story from your history about this type of experience.

 

A knowledge of or experience working with third-party certification agencies, such as UL, is preferred.  You should be capable of generating equipment specifications.  You will need effective communications and teamwork skills.

 

This is a 12 month contract position with medical and dental benefits, 401k, and time earned towards holiday and vacation pay.
