We welcome you to apply for following opportunity as a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Pressure Part Stress Analysis with the Boilers (NAM) Business supporting projects located throughout the world.  The position is based in Windsor, Connecticut.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Primary responsibilities are those associated with design and analysis of pressure part stress analyses on boiler tube walls, pressure part assemblies, headers, and integral boiler piping for utility boilers and their auxiliary systems.  Depending on prior experience and ability, the successful candidate may technically direct and oversee major design projects, ensuring all phases are completed in a timely and cost effective manner.  This would include leading a small to medium size team of engineers and/or designers to achieve schedule, hours and technical quality, as well as identify and process changes that impact contract margin. 

 

The specific responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

 

Developing details of the layout and design of heavy utility boiler pressure parts.

 

Performing detailed analyses and calculations related to the design of these pressure parts.

 

Preparing various related documents, drawings, specifications, reports, presentations and technical correspondence.

 

Reviewing shop fabrication drawings and other documents for compliance with contract specification, code requirements and material specifications.

 

Assuming overall responsibility for the preparation of various drawings, specifications, documents, reports, presentations and technical correspondence.

 

Acting as technical consultant to management/staff makes recommendations on complex product development and engineering issues.  May conduct independent research or study.

 

Represents the Company as an expert on major technical matters with customers, licenses, partners, suppliers, agencies and industry associations.

 

Domestic and/or international travel as required (10%).

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

BSME degree

 

5-10+ years of mechanical design experience supporting large power plants, petrochemical plants, refineries or other similar heavy industrial plants.

 

Experience performing pressure part stress analysis on boiler tube walls, pressure part assemblies, headers, and integral boiler piping.

 

Experience using Caesar II software to analyze piping, locates supports and produce support loads.

Good understanding of ASME Section 1 codes & standards.
