Medium Voltage Switchgear Engineer

Medium Voltage Power Systems Engineer will work with customers, vendors and other integration team members to custom design and specify main power distribution and protection systems for implementation in industrial applications and onboard Naval vessels.  This position will be located at our US Headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

?  Interact and communicate with internal and external customers on the technical aspects associated with the design and application of MV Switchgear equipment.

?  Provide consulting engineering and design management services throughout the technology investigation and implementation processes.

?  Provide technical expertise to internal and external customers in the area of medium voltage, power distribution system design, application and component selection.

?  Design and implement high resistance grounding systems.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

?  Minimum of a BS in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.

?  Minimum of five (5) years of direct experience in the design of power system protection and the implementation of medium voltage switchgear.

?  Advanced knowledge of directional and differential Power System protection schemes.

?  Advanced knowledge of power system software tools for the coordination of protection schemes.

?  Detailed knowledge of IEC and ANSI switchgear standards.

?  Working knowledge of the requirements for switchboards for Naval purposes (ABS, NVR and MIL Standards).

?  Design experience with the interface and monitoring systems necessary for vessel integration.

?  Naval shock and EMC requirements experience would be beneficial but not required.

?  US Citizenship due to Government Contract specifications.

?  Must be able to interact and communicate with internal and external customers.

?  Ability to prioritize workload and shift work activities in order to meet business needs and department goals is essential.

?  Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

?  Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

?  Strong PC skills required, including use of standard MS Office applications.

?  Ability to make recommendations regarding job methods and departmental procedures.
