Projects involved with:
Display Technologies Melting Design Process
Role within group:
1. Individual Contributor on specific task or projects
2. Project Leader on selective projects
3. Coach & Mentor to others within the group

Day to Day Responsibilities:
Participates on project teams as an individual contributor or as a project task leader understanding the customer?s requirements, developing project plans and schedule, developing scopes of work and cost estimates and implementation of detail design activities for CDT glass melting projects. Receive direction or guidance from a senior department member(s) to develop/strengthen melting engineering competencies. Manage the fabrication, installation and construction activities and support start-up of the melting process.
Provide the project or task with sound innovative thinking, problem solving skills and customer focus. Direct 2 to 4 Design CAD technicians to complete Design Programs.

Travel Requirements:
Approximately 25% travel, some international travel is required

Hours of Work/Work Schedule/flex-time:
40 hrs per week/ 8am to 5pm normal work hoursREQUIREMENTS

Required Skills
1. Mechanical, Ceramic or Materials Engineering skills/experience (min 3 to 5 years) - MUST
2. Problem Solving Skills - MUST
3. Understanding Thermal Design (Heat Transfer, Heat Balance) - MUST
4. Melting engineering skills/experience - MUST
5. Experience working on a process in a plant - MUST

Desired Skills:
1. CAD/Math Modeling experience - WANT
2. Project leadership - WANT
3. Construction Management experience - WANT
4. Understanding of Refractory Materials & Applications - WANT
