Purpose:
This position is accountable for developing the technical material expertise for steel, aluminum, and plastics industries in support of International's business objectives. This manager establishes interfaces from engineering, product development, manufacturing, suppliers, and parts distribution. They will be responsible for aiding negotiations through raw material knowledge, providing advice on material clauses with suppliers, understanding of materials markets, networking with material manufacturers and becoming the company's center of knowledge for each raw material market.

Basic Qualifications:

BS degree in Engineering or Metallurgy.

At least 2 years of metals commodity experience

At least 1 year of team creation/leadership experience


Additional Requirements:

Up to 20% travel including international travel

Purchasing experience

Negotiating experience

Knowledge of or past negotiating experience in the commodities markets: steel, aluminum, plastics

Project/Program Management experience

Familiarity with Commercial Truck/Bus/Diesel Engine Products and Marketplace

Experience in effectively managing both internal and external relationships with cross-functional groups and suppliers

Self starter, strong work ethic and project management experience

MBA a plus
