Raytheon?s Electronic Design Directorate (EDD) provides engineering design, integration and production to core radar, sonar, torpedo and combat system competencies including process and control, integration and test, power systems, torpedo and sonar electronics, receivers and exciters, antennas and microwave subassemblies.
Job Description:
The Power Electronics Manager should be an experienced electrical engineering line manager with deep and broad expertise in engineering management, technology, and business. In addition the candidate should possess demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities will include managing a Power Electronics Engineering section of 15-25 engineers - including resource and manpower planning, career development of employees, performance and appraisal evaluations, developing training curricula, technical mentoring and leadership.
Other responsibilities include technical problem solving, mentoring, and leadership, project leadership, proposal writing, pursuing new business, managing budgets and schedules as the leader of development teams, and leading organizational initiatives. The candidate should expect to work closely with other section managers, the department manager, the program management office, senior managers, senior staff engineers, systems engineers, and other development team members.
Required Skills:
? Experience in line management, project management, and development and integration of power electronics or experience in related fields.
? Project leadership skills, including skills in the management of cost and schedule, leadership of technical design teams or of technical senior staff.
? Technical areas of expertise including at least one of the following: power electronics design, converter design, transmitter design, and high voltage power systems.
? Ability to work with cross discipline teams to meet department goals and project needs.
? Excellent communication and management skills.
? Ability to function effectively as a part of a larger team.
Desired Skills:
10 years of experience in technical and project management skills as well as past hardware development and radar systems experience in a DoD environment are highly desirable.
Required Education:
BS or MS in EE.
