Mgr Product Development Engineering

Position Description:

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

Will be responsible for managing the corporate wide Product Development
Process (PDP) improvement project in collaboration with the Design Team.

SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Participate in PDP improvement roadmap development.
2. Benchmark current PDP blocks and engineering tools/methods against industry leaders.
3. Educate engineering team on impact of improved practices upon time to market
and product quality.
4. Oversee development and deployment of skill training
programs to improve statistical knowledge base and methodology of engineering
community.
5. Lead characterization (CHZ) improvement project to dramatically improve effectiveness and reduce CT by 50%
6. Coordinate other cross-functional improvement sub-teams.
7. Work with other organizations to systematize improvement efforts worldwide.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

? Requires a technology related Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
? An advanced degree is preferred and may reduce the minimum experience requirement.
? The position also requires 8+ years of related work experience.
? Must have experience in re-engineering of complex product development processes and have demonstrated leadership ability in prior positions.
? An ability to identify and close engineering skill and methods GAPs is preferred.
