NPD Manufacturing Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities








APC is seeking an individual for the position of Sr. Manufacturing Engineer for the NPD process with a focus on Air Conditioning Products (both chiller water and refrigerant based). This position is responsible for evaluation and recommendation of improvements to the manufacturing process including tooling and assembly methods. The candidate will evaluate and resolve product and material quality issues relating to design, test and manufacturing, recognize failure trends and recommend corrective action through APCs LQL process. The candidate will represent manufacturing on NPD projects to insure products have been reviewed from a DFA/DFM aspect, product introductions/transfer/start-ups at other sites to include



China


and other regions as required. Other responsibilities include identifying implementing cost reductions in both labor and material, introducing new programs/projects using the NPD process. Will assist as required in qualifing new vendors for part qualifications and Turnkey Manufacturing. Will insure sourcing/procurement on NPD projects at planned production areas to insure lowest cost/best quality for New Programs. As well as other duties as needed.


























Qualifications








Must have a minimum of 7-10 years related A/C manufacturing experience.




Experience in product transfer/start-ups in


China


a plus.




Experience in Sheet Metal Processs a plus.




Experience in Tube forming processs a plus.




Experience in Brazing processs and training programs a plus.




Experience in Vendor Qualifications/development a plus.




Experience in Solid Works/CAD software is a plus.




Experience in facility layouts is a plus.




Experience in developing/justifiing capital expenditures a plus.




Must be able to work in a cross functional team, also have ability to contribute a individual.


























Education/Experience








The successful candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Industrial or Mfg Engineering is desired (Associates degree is required) and 7-10 years of related manufacturing experience. The ideal candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, have a thorough working of statistical process control techniques, and proficient use of computer skills with working knowledge of PC and related software such as Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, Word, MS Access, Oracle, Lotus Notes and CAD software. Must possess working knowledge of mechanical drawing and digital photography applications.
