National Operations Technical Project Director - General Growth Properties has an immediate need for a National Operations Technical Project Director located in our Chicago Corporate Office.

National Operations Technical Project Director needed at Corporate Office in Chicago, IL.
Job Summary of the National Operations Technical Project Director: Provide technical assistance for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects; review, evaluate project specifications and consultant reports; provide Ordinary Capital budget recommendations for MEP projects; provide assistance and expertise to Operations Manger in completing approved Ordinary Capital MEP projects; create strategic plans for MEP replacement programs; provide technical expertise in supporting operations and maintenance to all Operations Mangers at General Growth shopping centers. Manage contract engineering firms.
Additional Activities:
- Establish rooftop and central plant preventive maintenance programs and insure information is properly recorded and up to date in MicroMain.
- Create standardized HVAC operating procedures for central plants.
- Provide MEP technical assistance to Operations Managers.
- Organize and categorize HVAC capital equipment replacement programs.
- Review current HVAC operating costs and develop strategies to reduce future costs.
- Review cost benefits of central plant operations automation.
- Conduct periodic review of mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment at shopping centers.
- Coordinate Ordinary Capital MEP projects with shopping center Operations Manager.
- Review MEP plans of new shopping centers and provide operating cost savings recommendations.
- Participate in writing of design manual for new shopping centers.
- Refine job qualifications for on site operating engineers
- Assist in creating a national recruitment plan for staffing of central plant shopping centers.
- Review and assist in staffing central plant.
- Participate in projects assigned by supervisor.
Required Skills:
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in (Mechanical) Engineering required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Three years in the property management industry.
- A minimum of five years administrative/technical experience and knowledge of property physical systems; Five or more years of managing multiple shopping centers or multiple commercial central plant renovations, mechanical, electrical and plumbing projects.
- Superior knowledge of commercial building practices, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
- Good analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, supervise, train, and direct a mall operations team and contracted services.
- Extensive knowledge of computers, energy management systems and peripherals
- Knowledge of building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical. Good analytical skills
- Three years of supervisory experience with two or more employees and demonstrates good leadership qualities.
