Network Engineer (Contract)

This is a CONTRACT position which should last 3 months or more

This large international company is looking for a network engineer to share in the duty of watching over a large "Hub and Spoke" network of more than 1300 offices.

The candidate needs to be familiar with Cisco routers and switches. Routers would be the 1700 to 3600 series

They have a group of networks that run under common administration and common routing policies.

The person will be responsible for watching over the system and making sure it?s performance stays up to par. The candidate will be work in an IT organization which can provide guidance and support should ?unusual? problems arise (you will be expected to handle most things with the help of a support line and your own knowledge). This is MORE than a mid level position, but does not require more than 5 or 6 years experience in a fast paced varied large environment.

This is NOT, I repeat, NOT a HIGH PAYING contract! If you are looking for more than $35.00 hourly, this probably won?t work.

It is an excellent environment for an engineer to learn about and contribute to the smooth operation of a very large network.


You?ll need to have gone through a professional training program for network engineering.

You?ll need to have worked in a varied fast paced environment for at least five years, but not more than seven or eight.

You?ll need to have used OSPS (open systems professional services)
and EIGRP (enhanced interior gateway routing protocol) before.

You?ll need to be familiar with and have used BGP (Boarder Gateway Protocol).

You?ll need to want to do this job and be happy about having an opportunity to work with more senior people on a major system.
