Network Engineer? Telephony Application Support.



Thomson Legal and Regulatory (TLR) is a leading provider of integrated information solutions to legal, tax, accounting, intellectual property, compliance and business professionals around the world.  The TLR Telephony Applications group supports over 10,000 nodes and full contact center capabilities.  TLR Telecom supports critical applications in a world class 24/7/365 environment.  We are looking for an individual with good Telecommunication knowledge and excellent project management skills to support critical contact center applications.  TLR has a position available in our Eagan, MN office.

Position Description:

This is a full time Network Engineer position with the Telephony Applications Group.Project management of applications with detailed record keeping. Assist in forecasting and budget analysis of Telecom projects. Standard application engineering development and management. Problem management of Telecom related issues.


Primary Responsibilities:Work individually and as a team to resolve telecom application and related issues. Support various Telecom applications and assist with databases and OS support. Directly interface with end users and various telecommunications vendors. Assist in business continuity plans. Maintain and develop accurate and complete documentation. Attend training sessions to enhance relevant skills. Participate in 24x7x365 on-call pager rotation. Lead and attend meetings as required.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:Excellent written and oral communication skills. Project management experience. 1-3 years experience in telecom related application support.

 

Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor?s Degree in Technology. Knowledge and experience in the following technical areas is highly desired: 

? Cellular process, vendor management and administration support as required.

? Wireless SMS and cellular equipment management.

? PC applications such as Windows, MS Office and project management applications.

? Structural understanding of Oracle, MS SQL, and web servers.

? Application troubleshooting experience on MS Windows 2000, 2003, and Linux .Knowledge and experience in the following technical areas is a plus.

? POTS, T1, ISDN, DSL, and Fiber Optic services.

? Inside and outside cable plant .

? PBX, voicemail, and video equipment.
