Specific Skills & Duties

 

Proactive member of the new product ?Design for LeanSigma? process team

 

Assist in the development of new product specifications

 

Design and develop products per specifications and UL/CSA safety standards

 

Create detail drawings including flat patterns

 

Create electrical wiring diagrams

 

Understand and monitor product packaging development and related costs

 

Review QA reports and approve first article inspections

 

Develop, and analyze product costs during each project

 

Assist in identifying tooling and other capital requirements

 

Request prototypes, monitor progress, and check for accuracy

 

Create BOM's

 

Coordinate part routing requirements

 

Proactively resolve assembly and fab issues

 

Assist in the resolution of QA non-conformances when required

 

Build customer samples

 

Assist customer service to resolve product and job questions

 

Check product layouts

 

Authorize and oversee ?Release for Tooling? and ?Release for Production? processes

 

Monitor pilot and initial production runs

General requirements

 4yr. college degree in mechanical engineering or related preferred Mechanical aptitudeGeneral knowledge of manufacturing processes involving sheet metal forming, and machining aluminum extrusion, castings, and plastics.  Proficient using CAD 3D software to make assembly and detailed part drawingsCommitted to meeting deadlines Willing to work extra hours as requiredAble to adapt quickly to changing prioritiesDetail orientedAdheres to specific project management standardsWorks cooperatively in cross-functional settingsHands onProficient using MS Office Professional and MS Project software

 3-5 years experience in a related field
